From Rock Tours to Technical Leadership

Chris’s journey in the events and audiovisual industry began in the 1990s. Between 1993 and 2004 he toured internationally with rock bands, serving as a production manager and helping launch a live‑on‑stage reality TV show in seven countries. His experience on the road, coordinating complex productions and meeting tight deadlines, laid the foundation for a career defined by adaptability and attention to detail.

By 2006 he had joined Staging Connections on the Gold Coast, where he served as Operations Manager until 2014. Seeking new challenges, he moved west to Perth as a venue sales executive at Crown Perth, and later became operations manager for a specialised audio company (2015–2017). These roles expanded his expertise in venue management, client relations and technical operations.

Joining AVPartners and Rising Through the Ranks

Chris became part of AVPartners in 2018 as a Senior Technician at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC). His combination of technical knowledge and leadership quickly made an impact. In 2021, he moved to The Westin Perth as a senior technician. A year later, he took on the role of Technical Event Manager, and in 2024 he was promoted to Associate.

Now, in 2025, Chris steps into the role of Partner. His journey reflects dedication and a willingness to grow with the company. Having worked across roles from technician to event manager, he brings hands‑on experience and a deep understanding of what makes events succeed.

Throughout his career, Chris has demonstrated a passion for technology, a commitment to clients and a talent for leadership. As Partner, he will help guide the AVPartners team at The Westin Perth, mentor staff and work closely with clients to deliver memorable events.
